Bryn Mawr College
Zainab is from the Class of 2021 and hails from Princeton, NJ! One quirky fact about Zainab..."I'm a total foodie who is avidly trying to avoid the freshman 15 and I run an Instagram food account with my high school friend! (@eatsbyzbkk !!)
Fun fact about Bryn Mawr College: Katharine Hepburn attended Bryn Mawr, and Bryn is also one of the Seven Sisters, which includes Wellesley College where Hillary Rodham Clinton went to school.
Favorite Ice Cream Spot: Unfortunately there aren't any ice cream parlors in Bryn Mawr town, but Franklin Fountain on Market Street in Philadelphia has delicious and classic ice cream parlor treats in a cute and quaint old-timey space! It's definitely a must-see when going into the city.
Favorite Bakery and Sweet: Insomnia Cookies on Lancaster Avenue is a godsend for when you're craving quick warm and gooey cookies delivered right to your doorstep! My personal favorite is the classic Chocolate Chip, but I also adore their heavenly cookie cakes.
Best Burger Joint: Shake Shake in King of Prussia Mall is a must.
Pizzeria and go-to pie: Bertucci's is a favorite amongst my friends and I. The classic Margherita is my usual go-to, but the Moreno with baked chicken and fresh roasted peppers is also delicious.
Hottest Mexican spot: Everyone on campus raves about El Limon. If you're ever craving fish or shrimp tacos, enchiladas or burritos, El Limon is definitely the place to check out.
Sushi Spot and Your Go to Roll: Sushi Land is a nice little joint with quick service and fresh dishes with tons of variety. My go-to roll is usually the Bryn Mawr Special Roll which consists of spicy salmon with a bit of crunch and special sauce, or the tuna and yellowtail nigiri.
Favorite breakfast place with a friend or date: Turning Point is a great treat for a weekend brunch with friends.
Things to do:
Where is your favorite spot on campus to hang: The UnCommon Grounds Cafe in our Campus Center is a great study space and the aroma of coffee and fresh, hot food makes studying a pleasant experience.
Where do you want to go on spring break? I would love to visit Seattle again at some point, but I'm planning on visiting Boston with my family, which is one of my favorite cities in the US.
Hotel or B&B Recommendation: Wyndham Alumnae House is a quaint yet upscale B&B tucked into the corner of campus with a refined eatery and easy access to the rest of campus. The Radnor Hotel is also a great option for easy access to the rest of Bryn Mawr, the Bryn Mawr Station as well as central campus which is only a 5-10 minute walk away.
