University of Vermont

The University of Vermont is a public research university located in Burlington, Vermont. One of the oldest universities in the United States, student enrollment for undergraduates is approximately 10,500 and 1,500 postgraduates. One fun fact about UVM is it is known as one of the Public Ivy Institutions in the US.

Famous "Catamount" alumni include E. Annie Proulx - Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Shipping News and Brokeback Mountain, Jon Fishman - the drummer in the band Phish, Jessica Seinfeld - author and cook, Billy Kidd - alpine ski racer and 1964 Olympic silver medalist, and Rupert von Trapp - a member of the Trapp Family Singers.
